Strong Winds This Evening, Storms Tonight

A strong storm system will begin to move into Kansas later today, which will lead to windy conditions for areas west of Interstate 135 for this afternoon through this evening. The strongest winds may actually occur this evening. Severe storms may move into portions of Central Kansas after midnight, with quarter size hail and damaging wind gusts to 65 mph possible.

  • Tonight – A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after midnight. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 59. Breezy, with a south wind 25 to 29 mph, with gusts as high as 38 mph.
  • Friday – A 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 1 p.m. Partly sunny, with a high near 75. Breezy, with a south wind 13 to 22 mph, with gusts as high as 31 mph.
  • Friday Night – A chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 44. Breezy, with a north northwest wind 13 to 20 mph, with gusts as high as 28 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%.
  • Saturday – Mostly cloudy, with a high near 60. North northwest wind 10 to 18 mph, with gusts as high as 28 mph.
  • Saturday Night – Partly cloudy, with a low around 40.
  • Sunday – A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 1 p.m. Partly sunny, with a high near 69.
  • Sunday Night – Showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm before 1 a.m., then a chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 46. Chance of precipitation is 60%.
