Severe Thunderstorms Possible Wednesday Evening

Thunderstorms are expected to develop along a southward moving cold front for late Wednesday afternoon over central Kansas. The storms will then form into a line and move southward Wednesday night. Large hail up to the size of golf balls and damaging winds around 70 mph will be possible from some of these storms.

  • Tonight – A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms between 10 p.m. and 1 a.m. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 63. South wind 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 22 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.
  • Wednesday – A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 1 p.m. Partly sunny, with a high near 83. Breezy, with a south wind 18 to 25 mph, with gusts as high as 32 mph.
  • Wednesday Night – A 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly before 1 a.m. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 49. Southwest wind 9 to 18 mph becoming north northwest after midnight. Winds could gust as high as 24 mph.
  • Thursday – Mostly sunny, with a high near 67. North wind 11 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 22 mph.
  • Thursday Night – Partly cloudy, with a low around 48. East northeast wind 7 to 10 mph.
  • Friday – Showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm. Cloudy, with a high near 57. Chance of precipitation is 60%.
  • Friday Night – Showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm. Cloudy, with a low around 45. Chance of precipitation is 70%.
  • Saturday – A chance of showers and thunderstorms before 1 p.m., then a chance of rain after 1 p.m. Cloudy, with a high near 56. Chance of precipitation is 50%.
  • Saturday Night – Partly cloudy, with a low around 41.
  • Sunday – Sunny, with a high near 67.
  • Sunday Night – Mostly clear, with a low around 45.
