Semi Damaged During Theft At Salina Truck Stop

Salina Police are investigating after someone removed an electronic control module from a semi early Friday.

Authorities say thieves cut the module from a 2003 Freightliner owned by Bourbon Trucking of Jewell that had been left at the 24/7 Travel Center, 2230 N. 9th.

The truck was parked at the business shortly after 8 p.m. Thursday. Surveillance footage from the store shows a dark-colored four door sedan pulling into the truck stop’s lot at around 2:20 a.m. Friday. The vehicle left the lot about 20 minutes later.

The stolen module is valued at $2,500 and damage to the semi has been estimated at $500, according to police.
