Mild Temperatures Continue, Chance for Storms Later This Week

Mild temperatures will persist across the area through Friday. Highs will be in the mid 50s on Wednesday, warming to the mid 70s on Thursday and the lower 70s on Friday. Winds will pick up on Thursday, with sustained winds around 25 mph and gusts around 35 mph. There will be multiple chances for storms from Thursday morning through Friday, with the best chances in Southeast Kansas on Friday.

  • Wednesday Night – A 30 percent chance of showers after 1 a.m. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 47. Southeast wind 9 to 11 mph.
  • Thursday – A chance of showers before 10 a.m., then a chance of showers and thunderstorms between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 76. Breezy, with a south wind 11 to 20 mph, with gusts as high as 31 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%.
  • Thursday Night – A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms before 10 p.m., then a slight chance of showers between 10 p.m. and 1 a.m. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 59. Breezy, with a south wind 17 to 20 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.
  • Friday – A 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Partly sunny, with a high near 74.
  • Friday Night – A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 45.
